It is no more news in Nigeria that the media instead of using the opportunity they have to strengthen and move the nation forward with news and information that are true and unbiased, but reverse is the case as journalist forever perpetrate evil with false news and alarming headlines that are questionable.
Recently there was a publication in one of the Nigerian leading news papers about LGBTI people and their activities over the internet.
This report was unnecessary and was filled with a lot of lies that could implicate innocent young internet users. There is the continuous need for caution over internet dating, especially towards young LGBTI people, due to the continuous witch hunt by the Nigerian government and its tool which is the media to carry out all forms of infringement on people's rights, most especially LGBTI people in the country.
Internet users should ensure to take caution while using the internet for all forms of activities, most importantly dating. This warning applies more to LGBTI people as they are more to fall victims of people who are out to cause harm or other forms of dangerous activities on the internet.
It is our aim and prayer that Nigeria journalists would practice journalism without partiality and ensure credibility in their reporting and information they pass on to the public.
